Bois D' Arc Primitive Skills Camp and Knap-In
at Hulston Mill Historic Park
September 28 - 30, 2012.

Dedicated to the research, practice and teaching of stone-age wilderness wisdom and life skills.

Held at beautiful Hulston Mill Historic Park, near Greenfield MO. Directions: From Springfield, take Hwy 160 approx. 30 mi. west (approx. 20 mi past Bois D' Arc Conservation Area, or 7 miles east of Greenfield) to EE hwy., right 1.8 mi., then right on C.R. 92 for .8 mi. to the Mill entrance. There'll be signs. Knap-In/Vendor Row starts Thursday, Workshops start Friday at 9 a.m. And, visit us on Facebook!

Knapper's Camp has exhibits & demonstrations from some of the best flintknappers in the country! 40+ primitive/Native crafts vendors, archery & atlatl competition shoots, (including a ISAC Atlatl Throw) primitive skills demonstrations, evening campfire programs & entertainment, food concession, programs and activites for kids. 

 

Knap-In Info - Very few folks in the world of flintknapping are unfamiliar with the name Jim Redfearn, one of the best in an area abounding with great knappers. Nationally known for his fine work, Jim has been profiled in Chips Newsletter, on KY3 TV, and other publications and media sources. Jim always brings a slew of major-league knappers, and with this crew of hoot-owls, be prepared for some grins! Workshop Fees: 
$50/day, $120/weekend with advance registration. Some classes may require a small additional materials fee. A sign-up board and final schedule is posted at the Registration Booth, some classes are concurrent and not repeated. Camping: $5/night, free with workshop registration. Workshops run from Friday AM until Sunday PM. Bring: Camping and rain gear, knife, eating utensils.
